The Friends of the Library is an active organization that functions to benefit the public library system in Cleveland County. Membership is open to all ages and requires only a yearly fee. The Friends make a positive difference in the lives of the citizens of Cleveland County by promoting awareness of and interest in the public library. By renewing your membership or becoming a new member, you can strengthen the effectiveness of the Friends and enjoy the benefits of membership.

Friends contribute to the library by:

• Funding books and equipment
• Reinforcing library staff with volunteers
• Insuring members a periodic newsletter and an invitation to the Annual Author's Visit
• Encouraging community interest, awareness and patronage through programs and events
• Nurturing literary needs of all generations
• Developing unique programs for children and adults
• Sponsoring special lectures and notable guest authors
